Filing Day

Big step today! For the first time in my life, I filed with the State of Washington as a candidate for an elected office.

Aberdeen City Council, Ward 4 Position 7. The position was vacated in February and I applied to take it on for the rest of the year. 4 others applied and it was a very close vote by the council but in the end, I was chosen in a tiebreaker by the Mayor.

Now, I'm diving in and learning as fast as I can, and I'm loving the challenge. I'm excited to do what I can to move Aberdeen forward, build our community, and tackle the issues that matter most to all of us.

Today, I made the decision to run for election so that I can tackle these issues for more than a few months.

Now to learn about campaigning! So many things to do, and I'm looking forward to all of it.
