Priorities

I’m running for City Council because I believe Aberdeen is worth investing in. I’ve lived in Grays Harbor most of my life, and I’ve seen this city through good times and hard ones. I know how much potential we have, and I’m committed to doing the work to help Aberdeen move forward. These are the key areas I’m focused on:

Homelessness

This is a complex challenge, and I believe we need a multi-faceted approach. For me, it's about finding real solutions that offer both immediate support and long-term pathways out of homelessness. This includes working with local organizations to increase access to shelter and essential services, exploring opportunities for supportive housing, and connecting individuals with resources for mental health and substance abuse. It's crucial that we address the root causes while ensuring our community remains safe and welcoming for everyone.

Downtown Revitalization

Our downtown should be the heart of Aberdeen; a place where people gather, shop, dine, and feel proud of where they live. Right now, too many buildings sit vacant, and too many sidewalks are empty. We can change that.

Revitalization starts with improving the basics: clean streets, safe crosswalks, good lighting, and support for small business owners who are taking a chance on our city. I support working with local property owners, business associations, and development partners to attract new investment and restore pride in our downtown core.

I’d love to see downtown Aberdeen become a destination again, for locals and visitors alike. A thriving downtown boosts our economy, builds community, and reminds us of what makes this city special.

Improving Infrastructure

Strong communities are built on solid foundations, and that includes roads, sidewalks, utilities, and public facilities. Many parts of Aberdeen’s infrastructure are aging and in need of repair. Deferred maintenance catches up with us eventually, and I believe it's time we invest wisely and proactively.

I support prioritizing essential infrastructure projects that improve safety, mobility, and efficiency for residents and businesses. This includes addressing potholes and drainage issues, making our streets more pedestrian-friendly, and ensuring our public spaces like parks and buildings are accessible and well-maintained.

By planning smart and staying accountable to the public, we can stretch every dollar and create long-term value for our city.

Thoughtful & Transparent Government

As someone who’s spent over 25 years managing the business side of a small architectural firm, I bring practical, real-world experience to City Council. I understand how to work within a budget, how to ask the right questions, and how to keep long-term goals in view while dealing with day-to-day challenges.

My approach to leadership is simple: listen carefully, act thoughtfully, and always communicate honestly. I don’t believe in quick fixes or flashy promises. I believe in doing the hard work it takes to build trust and make meaningful progress.

Aberdeen deserves leaders who care, who show up, and who stay focused on what really matters. That’s the kind of councilmember I strive to be every day.
